中国影像创意艺术家——王国平

在二十多年的创作实践中，王国平首创、独创、原创了一系列惊世骇俗、新颖奇特的影像语言，上海市委常委、宣传部长王仲伟题词：“影像创意”，上海市人大主任龚学平赞其为“电视神画”。
1994年，首次将现代派美术的“大地艺术”引进到中国MV拍摄中，用三千米红布包裹海南岛的山头，堪称中国最大制作的“大地艺术”，可与美国现代美术家克里斯朵夫的作品相媲美。
1999年，为拍摄《财富》论坛上海会议会歌《跨世纪的对话》，首次创作“布雕艺术”，将一百多人的交响乐团用布裹成雕塑，创中国布雕艺术之最。
2000年，为拍摄上海市委统战部《风雨同舟手拉手》MV，动用一百多人创作“人体活雕”，从“五四运动、北伐战争、抗日战争”到“政协成立、浦东开发”等，其规模之大更创世界“人体活雕”之最，并超过在威尼斯双年展获大奖的“收租院”人体活雕。
2002年，在南京路140年庆典开幕式，再次创作大型交响乐团人体布雕展，并获巨大成功，国内外多家媒体竞相报道，其规模之大再创全球新纪录。
2007年，又推出创意上海的先锋之作《上海色彩》，其影像之新，令人叫绝。
王国平被业内赞誉为是用摄像机作画的最有创意的艺术家，在电视拍摄中，其创作的许多后现代先锋作品即使在中国美术界也堪称登峰造极。

An Artist of Creative Imagery

For more than 20 years as an original artist, Wang Guoping has created numerous works with a unique and dazzling visual language. Mr. Wang Zhongwei, Publicity Director of the CPC Shanghai Committee, has used the terms “Creative Imagery” in praise of Wang Guoping’s achievements. Mr. Gong Xueping, who as served as Chairman of the People's Congress of Shanghai, has likewise written of Wang Guoping the artist as “A Magic Painter with the TV Medium.”
In 1994, Wang Guoping introduced a foreign art form called “Earth Art” into Chinese MV shooting by wrapping a hill of Hainan Island with a 3,000 square meter piece of red cloth, the largest work of such kind in China.
In 1999, to shoot an MV called “Cross-Century Dialogue” for the FORTUNE Global Forum, Shanghai, he made a new experiment by wrapping more than one hundred members of a symphony orchestra into live sculptures, the largest group piece of “Cloth Sculpture” ever created in China.
In 2000, to shoot “Hand in Hand in One Boat Through Winds and Storms” at the request of the United Front Department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, he used over one hundred people to create “Live Human Body Sculptures” with changing themes/scenes of modern Chinese history from “The May 4th Movement,” “The Northern Expedition,” “The War of Resistance Against Japan” to “The Founding of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and “The Development of Pudong, Shanghai,” again the largest of such works in China.
In 2002, at the opening ceremony of a commemorative event for the 140th anniversary of the Nanjing Road, he recreated the cloth sculpture scene of the symphony orchestra at a even larger scale, drawing huge attention from Chinese and foreign media and setting a new record with that art form.
In 2007, he produced his vanguard work “Shanghai Colors” with new-fangled images that present fresh interpretations of the city of Shanghai.
Wang Guoping has been regarded by the professional circles as the most innovative artist painting with the camera. Many of his post-modern vanguard pieces have not yet been surmounted even in professional arts circles in China.
